Encounter vs. Story

Greek Helmet by Templer1307I will be taking a break from running a completely homebrew game for awhile and switching to a vendor published storyline. This made me choose between companies putting out adventure paths, I looked at two, Wizards of the Coast’s (Wotc) Scales of War, being published currently in Dungeon, and the Paizo Pathfinder Adventure Paths. I will be using D&D 4e to run, but that really didn’t factor into my choice as conversion is pretty easy for me. read more »

Losing My 0ginity

These posts are normally followed by a discussion of the author’s discovery that 4th edition is either the most evil thing ever or better than sliced bread. I think both opinions are bunk and I will tell you why, I remember losing my 0ginity and it wasn’t pretty. read more »

Player Handbook Heroes Pregenerated Characters

One of the guys in my group picked up the entire Player Handbook Heroes Series One Miniatures set this week. The figures look good, I am not a huge fan of the prepainted figures, but I am pleased that with this set you can at least pick the figures you want. Some very odd choices for race/class combinations. I don’t think I have ever seen a Dwarf Rogue in the wild but I am sure they are out there somewhere along with Halfling Clerics. The sculpting and paint jobs are a mix on the figures, some are pretty good, some are pretty meh, and a couple are dogs.
